Bofta Yimam has been announced the first Ethiopia-American news anchor winner of the Regional Emmy award. Yimam has been awarded almost annually for her outstanding talent and experience in the journalism platform.
She has been hosting the Weekend Morning Action News at Pittsburgh.
The star has also been awarded in another occasion with Edward R. Murrow award which is prestigious as well. Her talent and experience records way back in 2013. She worked as an investigative reporter with Action News at Pittsburgh.
Graduate Maryland University
Born in Maryland, she moved to Dalton after sometime. While here, she crisscrossed in different areas like mid-south, southeast and the current Midwest. She later joined FOX13 and worked as both an anchor and reporter.
Bofta Yimam is a graduate of Maryland University. She has also studied in Seville and Spain Colleges abroad. She then joined Good Morning America in New York where she worked as an intern.
Yimam surprised many in 2013 when she won an award when still fresh in the world of reporting. She won Midsouth Regional Emmy for her excellence and fearless reporting. Her story caught the attention of Governor Bill Haslam prompting him sign that incarcerated rapists.
The culprits were forced to serve a full jail term as the law suggested. This was a relief to both women and every law abiding citizen. A culmination of her Breaking News coverage further made her winner of Edward R. Murrow award.
